Why is my monitor status wrong?

If you’re experiencing issues where UptimeMonster reports an incident but you can still reach your website, it may be due to the configurations of your hosting provider, server firewall, or website security software. Here’s how to resolve these common problems:

1. UptimeMonster Request Blocked by Your Hosting Provider

If UptimeMonster is reporting issues but you can access your website without problems, your hosting provider’s settings might be blocking our requests.

Solution:

  • Contact your hosting provider and request them to whitelist the IP addresses used by UptimeMonster for checks.

2. UptimeMonster Request Blocked by Your Server Firewall

This scenario is similar to the previous one but relates to your server’s firewall settings.

Solution:

  • Ensure that your server firewall has the UptimeMonster IP addresses whitelisted.
  • This will allow our monitoring checks to pass through the firewall without being blocked.

3. UptimeMonster Request Blocked by Your Website Security Software

In some cases, website security software or plugins (such as Wordfence for WordPress) might block requests from UptimeMonster.

Solution:

  • Review the settings of your website security software or plugin.
  • Whitelist all IP addresses used by UptimeMonster in the security software settings to ensure our requests are not blocked.
